Make Your Own E-Christmas Card

I had a lot of fun designing this card two years ago.  You don't have to be spectacularly talented to do this.  If you have any desktop abilities at all, you can do it.  Make any design you desire!  Add pictures or artwork.  It doesn't even have to be fancy.  Your friends and family just want to keep up to date with what is happening in your lives.

With the price of stamps now 49 cents, having lots of friends and family makes mailing cards an expense that could be used more wisely elsewhere, ie. a donation to a charity, church, or friend in need.  I love receiving cards in the mail, but I also realize we are now in the digital age and need to simplify our lives where we can. I would love to receive a card that contains pictures of my friends and their families.  I would be so thankful that they thought to include me on their list.''

Additionally, a wonderful thing about sending E-Christmas cards is that you can now take the money you would have spent on stamps and donate it to a charity.  They all need funds so badly at this time of year.

An OUCH Moment: One year, about 10 years ago, before people had really accepted the electronic messaging system for cards, I had an acquaintance "electronically" chew me out for sending and electronic card.  She accused me of being lazy, and told me I could just take her name off of my list for the future.  That really stung, so much so that I didn't do it again for about 10 years.  But when I thought about it, I said "I prefer my effort at something over her effort of nothing!"  Besides, I got lots of compliments from "friends".

I later found out that she didn't know how to open the attachment that contained my e-card, she assumed that all I was sending was the message that I was sending e-cards that year, and that that was the message.  I believe people are much more savvy now.  Anyway, whatever your process, just know that most people just love to hear from you!

How do you feel about this?  Tis the season to be jolly, right?  :-D
